airsoft innovation propane adapter
i dropped the propane tank on the tip of the adapter and it broke.. i tried following the instructions to replace it with the duster tip but when i tried, it doesnt push the nozzle all the way into the tank. is there anyway to fix this or is it fucked?
i compared it to my other propane adapter and on the other one, the nozzle is longer Last edited by andrew5826; June 23rd, 2010 at 23:38.. |

Because if you notice, its not just the tip that broken. The circle of plastic that holds the pin inside the adaptor also broke off. Sorry bud but you are shit out of luck. You need a new one.
Notice how you can't see the spring on this one.

Get a metal one next time (some other brand). I've heard of a lot of the recent gen AI adapters (made of plastic) breaking and getting chewed up easily.
I have a metal AI adapter from 3 years ago and it's still going strong. |

well, i fixed the problem of the nozzle not reaching the tank.
all i had to do was hammer down this peice ..but now, i cant seem to put the replacement duster tip on. i tried hot gluing it but propane just squirted everywhere from the point i glued it on to. any solutions? i heard metal ones ruin your fill valve and seals. is that true? |

Metal ones are awful.
Support the development of Canadian airsoft. Support AI. |

They are like $25...just buy a new one and be more careful next time. They should last you long enough that it's worth the money.

But they don't make them anymore. (Maybe so that you have to buy a one often and their product is a guaranteed seller? Good marketing tactic I guess) |

+1. I've done the same to my red AI plastic one and it practically broke my heart. Hell, they're so cheap anyway - buy another one to replace it.

@ Andrew...
Get a new one. For the 20 bucks it is to buy a new one you'll get lube and a secondary duster tip to go with it. That one is too broken. If it has 1/4 inch left sticking up it could be salvageable, but this one is not. Consider it to be a learning experience and move on. I've got the old AI from 3 years ago and 2 new plastic ones. I enjoy both, but prefer the plastic one surprisingly. I find it allows the propane to flow better overall, and there is less leakage. I keep my metal adapter at home, and bring both my plastic ones to games. That way I have a backup just in case.

I like to support a Canadian entrepreneur, especially one who is part of our community. Mad Max has some innovative products, and it's thanks to him that airsofters of the world are no longer being fleeced buying green gas.
That being said, I've been through about 4 AI propane adapters in the last few years. One I broke dropping it, giving the same results as this one. That was totally my fault. Two fell apart from normal use (came apart in pieces), and one had the nozzle split right down the side for its entire length. I'm on the 5th one right now and its been holding up well so far for the last 2 months or so. That being said, I doubt I'll buy another. I have a metal Madbull metal one that works great. Its been dropped, and hasn't broken. It's been used over and over again without issue. As much as I like to support a fellow Canadian airsofter and his innovative products, if I can't get a product that will last through regular use, I don't really care to waste my money on it. I don't see why I should have to buy a new adapter every year when I can buy 1 that will last forever.

Anyone know why he switched from metal to pastic? Price obviously but were there any other considerations? Mad Max would be nice if you could join us here.

Gotta quote for truth here. I bought a brand new AI plastic one and it wasnt working out of the box. Bought a metal one and its perfect.

If the metal AI ones make a reappearance, I'll be all over that. I know of guys that have been using their metal ones for years without issue. But I'm totally done with plastic ones and will stick with Madbull until AI releases a metal one again.
