RAP4 vs. CPGear for CADPAT
Hello, sorry if this is the wrong section for this thread but I'm new here (maybe it should be in the Newbie Tank?). I've done some digging for answers to this question and can't find anything satisfactory:
Which company offers better quality CADPAT clothing (as in BDU or equivalent)? I've been looking mainly at RAP4 and CPGear. The latter costs more than twice as much. Is there a major quality difference? Anyone out there have any experience with both? How does each hold up to normal wear and tear? Fading? If RAP4 is somewhat worse quality, in spite of that might I be better off getting two RAP4 BDUs for the price of one from CPGear, in case the first doesn't turn out to hold up too well? Thanks. I just recently got into airsoft and this is the first time I've purchased any camo. |

Cheap bdu's will fade and fall apart.

is it just me or does the rap4 one look just a tiny bit off?

The RAP4 jacket looks to be based on the American M65 standard, while the CPGear BDU's are cut to the pattern of our old OD combats. If you had your location filled out we could help you more, for instance the "S.A.S" army surplus store here in downtown Kingston is selling (wow what a shocker) non-surplus CADPAT tops and bottoms for $45CAD each.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I've opted to go with the CPGear.

My local surplus stocks RAP4 stuff I believe. My jacket and pants are white on the inside which I haven't noticed anywhere else..
They were indeed cheap, both in cost and make. I'll use till they fall apart but after only one wash they faded significantly. I'd recommend CPGear for sure. Remember buy cheap, buy twice.... |
