soft ballistic inserts

Anybody thought about buying these as an alternative to Faux ballistic plates?

seems nice.

Wouldn't work very well considering how small they are. The panel is about the size of your hand, they aren't very rigid or thick. You would better off using pieces of cardboard.

Also FYI: Those inserts offer no ballistic protection. They are not ballistic inserts they are Trauma Panels. Big difference.

Those plates won't fit the SAPI plate pocket in military vest. They are just small hard plate to dissipate the bullet impact energy over a larger erea on the kevlar vest. It's like a small book size, paper thin plate for the frond, and slightly larger for the back.
I see no use for this in airsoft, unless you run a conceilable or police vest that have the little pocket for this plate.

my Lvl IIIA has those plate. I like them. I'd never wear this kind of vest without them.

I think a bag of packing peanuts would offer greater "blunt trauma" protection.

I went to Wal-Mart, bought those 2" foam rectangles with the handle on one end for kneeling in the garden, cut them to SAPI dimensions and put them in my CIRAS. Honestly, I don't know how I wore the thing without that extra bulk. It fits soooo snug!!!!

They are 1:1 training plates made by Point Blank, the ebay site says size large, so google Large SAPI plates for the real dimensions, and the training ones will fit.

I took the foam inserts that came with the CIRAS out and used the plastic sheet bhind them to trace out the shape I needed. Fit perfectly and found some things on the carrier I had never seen before (Groin protector clips).
