Insulated Hiking Boots

I've been looking into getting a good pair of boots for airsoft, I went looking around a bit today and found a pair of hiking boots (I believe the brand was windriver (?) or something along the lines of that).

I really liked the boots, very comfortable, good ankle support, and waterproof. But the thing that concerned me was that the boots were insulated. The tag on the boots did say it was made of breathable material, but after wearing it for a bit (just walking/jogging to get a feel of the boots) my feet felt rather warm, so I'm worried about how warm it will get during a game, especially in the summer months.

Will overheating/over sweating be a serious issue with these sorts of boots?

I don't wear insulated boots for anything till it hits -15C.

If you felt warm just standing in them in the store, maybe you should consider something else.

Have you tried combat boots? That should be your baseline for comparisson. Even the goretex one don't feel too warm in a hot summer day.

If your hicking boot where lined with "thinsulate" or rated for cold weather, then they won't be suitable for summer use.

Great for the winter and wet weather. I have a pair of windriver boots from mark's work warehouse and use them all the time as the don't keep my feet that warm even though they are insulated.

Nothing wrong with a good pair of hikers assuming they provide adequate support and comfort.
