face protection and hello

hi guys, its been a long time since iv been here and even longer since iv played airsoft i just recently started to get back into it and its so different now so many new companies and retailers and manufactures its crazy. im really happy and excited to see how far airsoft has come in canada. im gunna get av'ed this week and hopefully make it out to a game asap and i was just wondering what kind of face protection are u guys wearing?? i read that alot of paintball fields require paintball masks. do they make any exceptions for balaclavas and just the goggles for airsofters? also what kind of masks or goggles and face protection are u guys wearing im curious because i was gunna go with a thick balaclava and just goggles but if most of the games are being held at paintball fields that require full masks then im just gunna get a full mask i was skimming over the game section and was wondering is there any fields in ontario now that cater more to airsoft? thanks for any info guys, cant wait to get out there and shoot you guys up

cheers

I do not believe that the option is very flexible in regards to whether or not exceptions can be made on the topic of paintball masks. The only true way to find out would be to contact your local field and ask. In the mean time perhaps a local player can share what info they have on the subject with you here now.

As for face protection options, things have not really changed. Mouth guards, shemaghs, balaclavas, paint ball masks and neoprene face guards are still used.
A new addition has recently pop up, its a made by a company located in Europe at this time however I believe their are other sources out there that one can acquire a similar item.

Wasaga beach/Soldier gear paintball when they do have a game there only require Sealed goggles... I use JT goggles that are rated for airsoft and a mouth guard and a Shemagh.

Fields that I know of that allow airsoft are Wasaga Beach, Soldier Gear (in the winter mostly) Sgt. Splatter, CQB and Defcon

As you know there are tonnes of goggle options. If your concerned about having to wear a paintball full face, then buy the full face with the 'detachable' goggle portion.

Problem solved.

Completely off topic.
Although there are some cool full face made by a few companies. But Im going to have to order one to see if its actually reliable enough for use. (My wife likes it, and its an unknown company to me)

I've heard good things about the Save Phace masks as well. They're low profile and you can get a decent cheekweld if the field requires full mask and goggles.

There are no JT paintball goggles rated for airsoft... JT themselves have made a point of relaying this to customers... If you like you can verify the information yourself by calling JT and asking them. JT products clearly state for use in paintball games only.

Save Phace masks are the only full face masks that are duel rated for both paintball and airsoft. On the Save Phace website you will see two different types of masks. Ones for paintball and the another line that have a ballistic rating that are specifically rated for use in airsoft as well as paintball.

General question about masks/goggles. How many shots to the mask/goggles before you replace the lens/whole thing?

don't think there's a limit to how many shots but if u start to notice little cracks that will eventually get bigger then it's time to replace pb goggles are pretty strong iv played pb with cracked goggles and they still hold up it's not a good idea tho cuz once it's cracked I'm pretty sure it loses strenth and eventually a shot might get through especially old paintballs that don't break on impact
