How Likely?

Hey guys,
I was wondering, how likely is it that you'll have a gun confiscated crossing the border? Is it less likely if its out of the box? If you're truthful will they let you through? Do they even care?!

I've been looking at buying a JG from Airsplat.com and was wondering.

Thanks

For all intensive purposes, 100%. Do not do it. It will get seized. You can't order from outside of Canada.

I'll leave it up to someone else to post the AV links.

Well if you feel its worth it to get criminally charged, thus resulting in a criminal record which will restrict your cross-border travels in the future by all means, go ahead. Its your life you will be ruining. If you want to buy an airsoft gun get yourself age verified and you can buy one here in the classifieds. If your not 18 yet then you can wait, as many of us won't tolerate impatience.

Why would you even want to sneak in a JG? If your gonna do that at least try it with a Systema. If its the price thats holding you back then airsoft may not be for you, as you will still need to invest close to $1000 on top of the AEG.

There's a one in a million chance you'll get it through. Not worth it. I managed to do it but under different circumstances and I do not advise anyone to try. Get verified and buy a gun over here or get one of those pretty clearsoft G&G's.

Unfortunetly the risk is not worth it at all. For all intensive purposes the CBSA will cease anything that mimics the appearance of a firearm. You are more than free to attempt to import an airsoft gun, but all risk is at your own cost and the odds of being able to appeal a seized airsoft gun are essentially 0%.

Alright thanks guys, I was just wondering if anyone had managed too.
And Rock n' Roll, the reason I wanted was a JG was because I'm not like, seriously into airsoft (I only have ONE mag for all my guns,I do not own BDU's, I don't know my radio callouts) and it was more for just having fun with my friends but still having a slightly more reliable gun than like, a Crosman, while still keeping my prices below $150.
I've decided against doing it and am probably going to save up for an Aftermath Kraken. Anyone have good/bad things to say about that gun?

One word for you: Search.

The forums have a ton of info on that gun, even probably in the posts below you in the Newbie section. Read what others have said, its a lot less of a hassle then posting a new thread, and trying to get people to answer the post.

Two of my friends went to boston with a church group once. They came back with four fully colored assault rifles and a pistol each (airsoft of course...) nobody would ever expect a church group :P

Sounds like they drove across. You will most likely have anything purchased online seized at the border.

I think thats what the OP wanted to do as well. You will hear about success stories of people getting them across the border, but thats only because that BSO didnt know the legality of airsoft guns, decided not to seize it, didnt bother asking about declarations or just over-looked them.

You will always hear more stories of people that DO make it across but only because you almost never hear of the people that get caught, which GREATLY outnumbers the ones that dont get caught.
