Little vest help
Hey, after my first season and finally getting a decent gun to replace my AK I have come into the need for a good vest. The gun is a FAMAS and as I'm told the mags fit M4 pouches nicely. Now the problem isn't style so much as size, see I'm a skinny fucker and I do mean skinny (not even cracking 130lbs). Any suggestions would be very helpful.

When he says skinny he's not joking..
I wish I could find the picture of him wearing my web belt... I'm not huge or anything, I've got about a 36 waist.. but he was swimming basically swimming in it. |

Sorry forgot to mention that I'd really prefer it to be in CADPAT TW as that is my main set of camo.

I'm pretty sure he'd look like a 3 year old kid wearing an adult size life-jacket in that thing :P
(Man this thread is fun!! I get to make fun of how small McKay is!) Edit: Oh wait.. That's for one of those McFarlin dolls... That might actually fit him!! |

Unfortunately, Like you I am also a skinny bastard 5'10'' 125 Lbs! what I have done is basically pieced together my own creation of a vest. this constists of a chest rig, and a tac belt all slightly modified to be XS, adding additional pouches to front and sides of belt and lacing it all together with paracord.(to hold eveything together as one tight unit)
http://photobucket.com/dreadheadvest hope this was helpful. good luck to you in you quest. |

Get a battle belt? Maybe one of the bandoliers from Wheelers?
All sorts of options, just not too many vests, especially CADPAT. Perhaps get some girth?

Pantac LBV? You take the back webbing out of the lower molle section, and it can be made to fit TIGHT. As in... To the point you would have to be morbidly skinny to wriggle out of it.

Pftttt plagiarizing my genius. But yah, the Pantac LBV is pretty much the definition of awesome. One size fits absolutely everyone, very comfortably. Lots of real estate for mag pouches, you won't get hot in it, and everything is very well made and durable.

It may become a little expensive, but its worth mentioning I suppose.
The Weesach from HSGI is designed for smaller dudes, and if you crammed in a couple plastic SAPI inserts it might just fit nicely. The lovely thing about it is there is 12 STANAG mag pouches already built into the thing, so your FAMAS mags would have a cozey home as well. If anything play with the idea, its a couple hundred dollers over at Daves Surplus and comes in CADPAT if you really want it.
