HFC Glock 17 Slide Sticks

Hey guys...I've got an older HFC Glock 17.

This problem is not always consistent. I will take a video of the problem when I get home from work to demonstrate what position the slide is locking to give others a better idea of the problem. Anyway after firing...often after the first round, the slide does not always seat back into full battery. Usually the Slide sits about 3/4 to 1 inch back (after blow back action) and then I have to tap the back of the slide to cycle the next round and seat the slide properly.

I can not figure out where the slide is catching or rubbing...I have taken it apart...cleaned it good..and lubed it nicely with silicone.

Has anyone experienced this problem with this gun or others? how did you fix it? any suggestions are appreciated.

Still learing about GBB's but for a noob on the subject that would have been my reply as well.

The recoil spring is the one that makes the slide return to battery. If you take the slide off (by taking the mag out, holding the disassembly lever down and racking the slide), you'll see a big spring right under the barrel. If this is too weak or broken (or if the guide is broken) it can cause this problem. While you have the slide off, also make sure all the parts are lubed with silicone oil. In particular, look at were the metal is worn (due to friction) and also look at any potential areas the outer barrel could catch.

Don't know what the problems is (Well, it's really just poor QC and shoddy product), but a lot of HFC Glocks have that problem.

I had this problem with my old HFC Glock, but I was able to remedy this problem.

What you must do is take the outer barrel out of the slide (search the web how to field strip it) and take a grinder and shave down the barrel. I found mine was rubbing against the outer barrel as it may be too thick, so giving it a good once over with a grinder or a dremel with a very abrasive piece should do the trick. Just look on your outer barrel and see where the resistance is worst and start from there. After a couple minutes of grinding, put it back together and see if it needs any more.

This method worked flawlessly for me, as well as a couple more people I explained this too with their HFC Glocks.

Also, where the mock chamber meets the slide, beveling those edges on the top and the right of it should aid in your problem.
