AK-47 questions
Hello, I looked around for a forum to ask some questions and this one looked better then alot of others I found so will give a try here.
I am basically looking for some info on compatible parts for the CYMA AK-47. What I am really looking to use it for is as a display and replica. Therefore the internal workings is not of much inoprtance and I have found one that is broken internally. So just a couple of questions, does anyone know what magazines will physically fit into the CYMA weapon ? Specifically the ones produced by Star Airsoft Acessories ( http://www.starairsoft.com/product_d...p?productid=3# ) Thanks for any help anyone can give Robert |

I believe it's a TM clone so anything compatible with TM should be good.
STAR manufactures a lot of mags and is the choice for anyone who is on a tight budget for mags. I don't know if it will fit out of the box but most people have gotten mags and whatnot to fit just about any gun with a bit of modification and/or sanding.

If it is just for display and you are 18 I think you can have a replica of the ak47 as long as the model it is made to represent is more than something like 40 years old. I mean completely non working replicas, like cemented ones. I know this applies for stuff like ww2 weapons so I don’t se why you couldn’t get an ak47 display model and have it on show in your house. I think the reason you can do this is that they are vintage weapons and are classified a memorabilia. I know my grandpa used to have a STEN and a Thompson display model in his den.

If your going for a display/replica I think you would want a metal mag like TM or g&p. Star & MAG brand mag's are plastic.

Thanks for all the input . I am indeed over 18 ..
I am waiting to see if the order I placed goes through or I will start over again looking for a decent AK at a ok price. If it falls through I will start looking again... Any chance it would accept a real magazine ? anyone know ? Robert Last edited by rje71; January 10th, 2009 at 21:21.. |
