WA Hicapa Mag Problem

This thread is best left for WA users ONLY.

Specs:
WA Infinity Magna 6" Hicapa
- No upgrades (2nd Owner)
- Stock Plastic Slide
- Infinity Dual Tone Metal Slide

Problem 1: WA Hi-Cap Hard Impact Gas Route Rubber not staying in place

Rubber piece Picture

It appears that after a few shots the rubber piece gets dislodged upwards as the gas shoots straight up from the mag. Perhaps the rubber piece has seen its end of life as it feels very soft.

What I tried

*Lubing it (Did not Work)

*Tightening the screw near the exit valve (Helped)

It helped a little bit by increasing more of my shots before the gas just expels outwards

Possible Solutions

Correct me if I am wrong but it may just be the rubber piece that needs to be replaced?

I already have some rubber pieces on the way

************************************************** *

Problem 2: Not feeding properly

For some odd reason the BB's shoot out every other shot.

Example:
Load magazine in cock slide, shoot 1st time BB goes out 2nd shot does not, 3rd does, 4th does not, 5th does

What I tried

*Use Stock Plastic Slide
Helped the cycling a lot better but get the occasional blank fire

Possible Solutions

Fellow airsofter achanamm says to replace recoil spring, I am getting a new one right now but need confirmation and further inquiry to be able to fully isolate this problem.

LOL, rookie stop dropping your mags!

You probably lost the metal plate that
holds the rubber in place. Show me a
picture of that area.

Edit: Is your gun a Magna or SCW?
There are some issues using the new
WA mags that have the replaceable
fedlips when using the Magna guns.
And even sometimes the SCW's can
misfeed with those mags. There are
3rd party feedlips to try out, if so.

Actually this is one of the first mags that I did not drop for once.

Yup its the Magna. I wish my camera weren't broken but it appears everything is held in place tightly unless there is suppose to be another metal plate over the Rubber piece?

There is a metal piece with 2 prongs
that seats the rubber and locks it into
place when the valve assembly is
tightened. It can pop out if things
got loose and/or was dropped.

EDIT: check your nozzle for damage...
that's the only way I've had a Magna
misfeed. Having the wrong slide stop
from another model can cause some
funny things too but your gun should
be mostly stock, I hope.

Perhaps this gun has seen a lot of use before coming to me, the mag does have a bit of wear and tear

Anyway yes the two prong metal piece is there as well. Its the only thing holding the rubber piece in, but after a few shots the rubber piece pops upwards.

And the back screw (Near the exit valve) has been tightened as well, it was loose before making the rubber pop up every time but now its gotten better at least on average a half a mag or sometimes by random it will pop up

If all the parts are there, then the rubber
is damaged... it should not be able to come
out without removing said parts. Old ones
can flex out a bit closer to the feedlip as
they get worn but shouldn't cause any
problems.. Also could be the metal around
the area is damaged...

SD sells them on UNC. Guarder ones can
be found most places. CP parts on UNC are
very well made, as good if not better than
Shooters Design.

I'm sending you a PM

SOLUTION FOUND THANKS TO SAFX

Solution FOUND

Solution

Due to me not knowing that this gun was not upgraded with new recoil springs I wore out the stock ones. So a 150% recoil spring is on the way that could explain why the misfiring due to the weak spring not hitting the gas hard enough

Also for the Mag it appears that the exit chamber valve must be taken out and re-lubed in order for it to stick out since it seems to be very dry

Just to clear it up, you mean the hammerspring right?

If you want a temporary fix while you wait for your HAMMER spring to get in, you can do Carl's 6mm Fix. Basically, disassemble the back of your grip, place a BB under the hammerspring, reassemble.

That will increase spring tension while you wait for your springs to get in. Just remeber to remove the BB when installing your new spring

Ugh, that bb will get crushed and will
not provide consistent strikes while its
grinding to bits. Unless you use a metal
one but...

I've seen a fair amount of these in my
trades an builds and all I can say is
that solution is worth less than the $6
it's cost for a set of SD 150% springs.

When a spring is over-compressed it's
not going to provide the much energy
upon release, even with a bb under it.
