ICS M16A3 safey selector

This is sthe second time i had this issue with my ICS M16. it appears if you put any pressure on the trigger while on safe, the saftey catch inside slips, and the unit no longer has a safe position.

I had a gun doc in AB look at it once, and tried to fix it . it worked for a few firings but it made the problem worse. I purchased a new internal gear box part MA-62 (expensive solution) , and that soleved the issue.

However it happened again.

I pulled the old gear box apart (1st time working on a gear box, i didnt want to mess up new one) and in appears as if the lever inside the box, by the trigger slipped out of position.

is there a gun doc in the area, who can try to fix this? I would perfer a doc in Moose Jaw area, but if not possible, I would perfer to have to only send lower reciever and lower gear box (save on shipping)

I have an ICS Rifle myself (converted to an C8A1) and I as well had an none working safety. I found my part was warn down an was not catching and holding the trigger in safe.
You mentioned "trigger slipped out of position" so I suppose the 2-piece clip has an missing screw that holds down the parts? Or the thread for the screw is warn out and not holdng that small screw in place causing the safety not to work.
Another question is, are you constantly pulling the trigger in safe mode causing the clip to wear down?

my first solution was a $80 mech box, for a $10 issue.

it turns out both problems were the same. the saftey catch in the box had broke.
