I've got it all back togather but it seems to be only shooting in auto. Not a big deal and I'll be tearing into it again sometime this week to try and correct it, for now I'll just exercise some trigger control.
It definately seems to be cycling a bit faster and I'm glad to know my trigger contacts are somewhat isolated. It was pretty darn hard to cram all the wires into the wire run. Mounting the buffer tube was also a pain.
The mechbox itself wasn't terribly hard to reassemble, could be beginners luck.
Thanks for all the help,
Grant

There's only one reason why it shoots full auto only...but there are a number of causes.

Reason:
- the cut off lever isn't knocking the switch block out of contact

Causes:
- the nub on the bottom of the sector gear isn't contacting the lever and moving it enough
- the lever is broken
- the selector plate has moved the lever out of position (which it does when you put it in full auto)...the notch/cut-out might not be long enough and is moving the lever prematurely
- the little spring that goes between the lever and the selector plate is missing, bent or just plain not pushing the lever back forward
- if it fires full auto as soon as you plug power in, you may have mixed up the wiring and are sending power straight to the motor (yeah...I know for a fact that it happens... )
- same as above...but you may have nicks in your wiring casing and it's causing a short
- the notch on the switch block that the hook of the cut off lever catches is worn
- if you've removed the switch assembly to check it out...you may not have it completely flush against the mechbox shell...if it's away a bit or slightly out of position...the hook may not catch
- if you've taken the cut off lever out to check it out...you may have screwed it back in too tight and it's not moving freely

That's all I've got off the top of my head...tired now...must sleep.

I think I perhaps overtightened the cut-off lever. I can see it move but it doesn't seem to be effective at resetting the switch. So it needs some slack to do its job? Anyway to test how much without completely reassembling the mechbox.
Thanks,
Grant
