TAG Gladiator?

Anyone used one of these? I'm looking for something low-profile and comfortable to go prone with. I've heard of the TT MAVs and such but I'm not wearing this over plates or anything (for the time being) and these straps look much more comforable, it also looks to have a lot of adjustability if it did have to go over armour.

I've used TAG gear and keep discovering that it really isn't that great as many people think.
If you want something lo-pro, try some of so-tech's stuff, or even a simple FLC(super comfy and lots of real estate).
The MAV is good shit though.

Thanks for the input, it seems like TAG either gets really recommended or the opposite. Anything in particular you didn't like compared to other brands?
I really dislike vests so I thought I'd avoid those. I've heard good things about Eagle's Universal Chest Rig, maybe the version with a tonne of Molle on the front. There is also the ESSTAC BushBoar which I like the looks of.
I kind of want to avoid having doubled-up mags on my front as it makes going prone a real pain.

ESSTAC is probly one of the toughest kit you can get, unfortunately it can be so tough that it is very difficult to break in so to speak. Quality still, none the less. Good for bangers and frags since the pouches are considered bomb proof.lol.
Eagle's universal is very good. SKD has their own version which is IMO better than eagle's regular triple mag or reg universal rig.
Check out SKD's.

TAD Gear bandolier, and keep the big pouches up high. I have one, comfy to wear, but not alot of real estate if you expect to pack alot of stuff like food, etc.. It's meant more as part of a bug out kit, something easy to put on that can carry a minimal fighting load. But it will let you go prone, even if your a fat guy like me.

LBV-E will work in that regard as well, you can keep the pouches away from your centerline for easy access while prone.

..you can always just wear a belt kit with some HSGI suspenders. Probly as lopro as you can get.
Something like Falklands/Gulf War SAS kit.

I've used TAG gear and keep discovering that it really isn't that great as many people think.

Never heard a bad thing about TAG and we sell a ton of it. It's in constant use in Afghanistan and abused big time.

In three yrs I have only had three issues;

1) fastex buckle broke when run over by a LAV

2) zipper broke on a 5 day pack after two years, when overloaded and got caught on an item

3) elastic on the plate carrier started fraying after two tours in astan

TAG replaced/fixed all for free with no questions asked.

I'm not going to go with a vest type sustem, they always seem to fit either too loose and wobble or too tight and you can't move very well.
I'd prefer to stay within the realm of the chest rig.

Next question: Mag pouches with flaps or shingles with bungees? I would think the shingles would be best but lots of people use pouches, any input on that?

Well I'm looking to play with low-midcaps and more of a direct action kind of role. Vehicles not really going to enter the picture but climbing structures and ladders will be. I've only ever used pouches and found them somewhat limiting in their speed and the velcro is loud.
