Ah, I suspected that was why I couldn't open the receiver. Yeah, like I posted before, I found the fuse split down the middle, with burn marks on the glass. I'll pick one up soon. However, I don't get how the fuse burnt out in the first place if it's supposed to be "lipo ready". Is there a stronger/more effective fuse I can get in the same size? The stock one is 15 amps btw.

ya u can just keep using the 15A.
the reason why it was blown was because the battery kept pushing current into the motor because it was struggling to fire the gun(since the piston was stuck). So eventually there were too much current in the wiring so the fuse blew up. The fuse is there only to protect the wiring from blowing up, if something was to blow up, fuse will first, so that the wiring is fine. after all, replacing the fuse is much easier than replacing the wiring lol dont up the amps, if you up the amps for the fuse, 20A is as far as I reccomend. If you up the amps, it just means that you will be putting more current in your wiring before the fuse blows up, and thats a bad thing to do. Last edited by Skladfin; July 29th, 2008 at 21:23.. |

The fuse is there to protect the gun. Just because it's "LiPo Ready" doesn't mean it can handle excessive current. The fuse could (and they do) blow using mini/large NiCd/NiMH batteries. It's just a matter of too much current being drawn. This usually happens when you hold down the trigger after the gun has locked up. The motor keeps drawing more current and thus the fuse blows.
You don't need to up the amps on your fuse. You risk melting wires etc. if you do that.

Anyway, I'll stick with the 15A fuses and make a note for the buyer to do so as well. Thanks for your help, all. ***Issue resolved with replaced fuse***

EDIT: It might be because of too much current going through the wiring while shooting full auto. Since nothing was stuck, you might wanna up the amp to 20A, then it shouldnt blow up on its own anymore. Last edited by Skladfin; July 29th, 2008 at 21:46.. |
