Alright so for those who have seen my other thread, now I have another problem which is almost related to this, but I'm sure it's not the tightbore..
My gearbox works now, and before it fired and pierced through a cardboard box at about 380 fps. Now, it fires and will not pierce through the cardboard box, it miss fires, and some bbs plop right out. The piston is the element one, but I used the stock piston head thingy that screws on top of the piston, so I am sure it would work with the rubber. Anyways, is there something I did wrong? I put in the 3 washers and screwed it in. Does anyone have the instructions how to install the top of it? I probably installed it wrong... I built this from scratch, and also, the hop up is still brand new.. and as I mentioned, the gun fired perfect. Here's a picture of the piston when I stopped it on automatic. I also have a video here. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uNGlN3dGwN0 (Yes there's glue gun on the shell because my pins on my top reciever broke so that's the only way it will stay on.) Has this problem only started since you installed the new parts?

Okay here's how it started.
I got my externals, hop up and got a no name motor from someone. Ordered a gearbox from airsoft gi. JG. The it fired about 400 shots, opened up the gearbox because the piston locked back. I changed the piston into element and installed the stock head piston onto the new element cylinder. I later found it had nothing to do with the gearbox. It was just a battery that failed, testing it from 2 batteries. Anyways, so now when I fire, it just plops out, and some shoots, probably under 100 fps. Hm, never thought about lubing the hop up, but the hop up is new, I am sure it works because it has worked before.

Okay so I changed it back to the stock piston in the JG box, same results occur.
I have 2 hop up units. This is the exact one I have. I am currently using a AK barrel that fits the SPR front kit. The hop up bucking rubber piece is black. Not seen in the pics. Am I losing power because of the hop up? How should I fix the hop up, and lubicrating it? |

just remember that once you lube the hopup, the first 200 shots will be wild and then they will start to settle down.....
I would also suggest running a cleaning rod down your barrel (pull it from the gun first so you dont risk ripping the hopup rubber) as maybe it's gotten dust or corrosion inside. |

I hate myself. I hate being self taught. But anyways, I fixed the problem. I was so stupid, and blind. I was busy looking and holding down the gears and reversal latch, I totally forgot about connecting the nozzle to the plate! Holy shit! Just because of that, I wasted over 30 hours, about 6 hours a day finding out what the problem was. Opening and closing the gearbox about 10 times. But it works, I cleaned out the tightbore too anyways. It was still blackish inside from the factory I guess. Muahaha! I'm happy. |

I know, this was like the first time ever I touched a gearbox and raped it!
