v3 mechbox piston head dissasembly

Grab a rag on tight piston and spring while compressing spring on table while you hold/pull piston in vertical position down on table.

grab another towel and counter clockwise screw the FARK out of the piston head. Do it NAO! While saying out loud "By the power of Greyskull! I have the power!"

If that doesn't work cut out the center circle you see on the piston head face to expose the phillips #2 screw. Put scredriver in there, PULL on the spring at the other end to put tension on it, and it'll unscrew. Some pistonheads come off just using paper towels, others (even same brand) only come off if you dig out the screw head and use a screwdriver. Either way, still need to PULL on the attached spring.

Use a new piston, piston head, and spring!

Is your piston head turning but not coming off?. If so, then the circular nut inside is also turning, preventing the two pieces from separating.

well problem solved, only way to remove piston head was sawing the head off. Turns out Tokyo Marui in the AK-47 stock piston heads are glued directly into the piston!! Those fuckers. Anyways thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it.

Just cause I'm curious: why did you need to get the head off anyways? Sounds like you were replacing stuff? Or did you need the stock TM piston?

I was upgrading the mechbox and at the cylinder and piston point of the upgrade, I was replacing the stock spring to a PPA 110 spring. And as you know, I had to remove piston head in order to detach the spring from the head in the piston. Anyways for only 25.00 bucks more, I got a systema V3 head to replace that stubborn stock head.

Run it till it breaks. I ran a stock piston in my TM AUG for several thousand rounds on on a Systema M120 spring (400fps) before it just broke recently.
