i put the thing together. not as hard as i thought. didnt need no oil or nothing, i just wiggled it down over the barrel. no rubber stretching or anything like that. went together way easy.
gun still doesnt shoot correctly. still clogging and burping out bbs

i dunno if anyones familiar with be body parts. i have a feeling that its cuz im using an x-m8 barrel assembly in my sl-8 even though the two barrel assemblies are identical except for the flash hider tips.
i can put the other sl-8 barrel assembly in both of the guns and it shoots fine even thought its hop up rubber is broke and i havent replaced it yet.
im rather stumped on why the identical x-m8 barrel assemby doesnt work in the sl8

Maybe it's because it's a BE and BE makes complete shit guns? Seriously dude... how many times have we told you that CHEAP = SHITTY.

ive been replacing the inside parts. cut me some slack, this is my very first aeg project.
the one sl-8 works fine. if i cant work the bugs out of the other or rig something to work then i could always scrap that and try to put it together in my brothers x-m8 body and see if things are any different.

gives me something to do which is good

If you have ruled out the burping is not due to an internal mechbox problem (bad tappet plate, etc) and think it is being caused because of bad feeding or hopup, maybe I can give you ideas of what to test.

There is a balance that has to be maintained between the nozzle, the hopup and magwell hole feeding for proper function.. First the bb must be able to fall straight through the magwell with gun upside down. I used a flashlight to confirm thisand dropped bb in.

Then I checked that the nozzle when fully forwards (I have a modify antireversal latch with flat head screwdriver slot-- makes life easy) touches the hopup rubber and seals and does not leave a gap. You can shine a light down your magwell and look down your barrel with safety glasses on an see if any light shines through. Proper seal, no light.

In case you changed nozzle, did you check the length of the old and new nozzle size by side? In my case the guarder nozzle I purchased is slightly shorter and does not seal with the hopup sleeve. So now my option is to shave a little off the hopup chamber so it sits closer to the front of the mechbox and seals with the nozzle better and shave the same amount off the hopup chamber tabs to allow the chamber to move farther back due to the barrel spring. Until I fix the problem I have about 250 FPS. Dents the side of a sprite can lol.

Also so people recommend putting in a stronger tiny spring in the hopup chamber (the spring that pushes the plastic piece which goes down when a bb is fed. SO people put in a stronger spring to prevent multifeeds. I have no idea where they found a tiny stronger spring but if had to I'd add some epoxy to it behind the spring to push the spring foward and make it tougher to push the plastic piece down.

Other than those off the top of my head tests I'd take it to a gun doctor.

forgot to mention. Turn your hop upp all the way down (off) and see if burping is diminished.

yea im pretty sure it has to do with the barrel assembly. cuz like i said before, the sl8 one works fine with both guns while the xm8 one works with neither. it seems as though i will have to fix the broken sl8 barrel assembly that went with the other and see if it works then
i also had thought that maybe the nozzle on either my ca or echo 1 gearboxes were shorter than the other. but since the sl8 barrel works fine on both of them i do not think that that is the problem

oh and i looked at that little spring you mentioned. you could probly use the spring out of a multiple color pen to make that stronger

at this point i really dunno what the problem is. i can turn the gun upside down and drop a bb into the chamber and pull the trigger and it shoots perfectly no matter which barrel i have in it

What magazines are you using? The stock SL8 ones?

oh yea i have three stock be ones and a be hi cap winder that are designed for g36 and xm8 models
but hey its all good. i took that sl8 apart and put all the internals into the xm8 body and it shoots wonderfully now. my brother is happy with it

the sl8's broken barrel shot fine with the xm8 and i was like thats cool but i dont like the looks of the end of it being all broke off. so i took the hop up off that and put it back on the xm8's barrel assembly.
i think the problem was either that particular sl8's magwell since its removable or the fact that the gearbox was secure in the sl8 body which that part that holds it in place with the gun bodies pins i had to remove off the gearbox to fit into the xm8. my echo 1 gearbox didnt come with one of those plates on it. now both of our guns have functional safteys cept for the locked trigger part

I have the same hop up assembly as that little picture in the first post. I dont know which order to put the things back on...i looked at the guide too but it seems to be kind of different than mine because i cannot just simply slide the brass ring back on.

Sorry im not trying to jack yout thread but i am having the same problem

Put the brass ring over the end of the barrel and slide it down.
