GBB Pistol and Mag FAQ

Okay so I just wanted to start Pistol FAQ thread since I see a few common questions coming up. I'll continuously edit this to post all the FAQ up to the top from what I learned from others and what I have experienced myself

FAQ: On TM and WE pistols and Mags

Regarding Mags

Q: WE mags are cheaper than their TM counterparts are they any good?

A: TM mags tend to be known for great reliability, minus a few lemons once in awhile you will get more bang for you buck and most people will recommend the TM over the WE's but if you are on a tight budget WE's are still good

Q: Where can I get good priced mags

A: ehobbyasia and your local dealers

Q: Are the WE and TM mags interchangeable between the guns?

A: Yes they are but only the 2011 verions and the 5.1 hi-capas but the 1911s are different

Q: Can I use the WE CO2 mags in the TM guns

A: Do not do that, actually stay away from CO2 for GBBs as the CO2 may shorten the life of the parts since it is too powerful

General FAQ

Q: Where can I get a wider selection of GBB upgrades

A: Try ehobbyasia, UNCompany, and WGC

lol ... are you doing advertising for ehobbyasia! All your answers seem to point to this vendor.

Not all WE mags are interchangable with TM mags, only their 2011s are. Their 1911s are different.

Also, eHobby actually has a pretty disappointing list of upgrades for GBBs. UNCompany and WGC are much better.

I'm just gonna post this about ANY brand of GBB mag (or any gas mag for that matter):

ALWAYS keep gas in the mag. Don't worry about 1/4, 1/2 or full, any gas in there will keep the mag from leaking. Regardless of whom has told you what, fully empty mag have been proven to leak after a while (one of my KJW M700 mags leaked badly 3 days after it was left empty).

Personally, if I use a mag and empty the rounds, I'll leave it as it is til I load it again. If the mag was loaded full of gas and I didn't use it, I might unload the BBs if a few weeks til next game, but I leave the level of gas (in this case FULL) in there. I've never experienced a leak from a mag that was kept full. And I have six KSC G19 mags, two KSC MK23 mags, one KSC M11A1 mag.

I've learned my lesson, now it's your turn to heed my warnings and avoid my mistakes.
