airsoft field
I got to thinking last night after playing some paintball (I’m still under 18 forgive me) but is there any Canadian airsoft fields with stationary buildings pro shop, canteen ect. The reason I ask is that I’ve found that (by reading up on the history of paintball) the presence of licensed fields raised mass opinion about the sport. So I can’t help but deduct that the same might work for airsoft, tell me what you think.

Doesn't work that way. Licenced paintball fields didn't "raise" mass opinion, licenced paintball fields was in part a reflection that the public had nothing against paintball. Also, there were enough paintballers around to make it financially viable, there are too few airsofters for the same type of fields paintball has. Not to mention there were relatively few legal issues surrounding paintball, where as there are certain legal issues with our equipment that makes our situation less than ideal.
Finally, paintball does not have the same inherently unfavourable image we do, what with our paramilitary, look-they're-right-wing-nuts-in-training fashion versus their BMX, is-that-a-kidney-on-top-of-their-paint-sprayer fashion.

Many airsoft games take place at paintball fields. Some people own their own airsoft fields. It is not common for people to rent AEGs or have proshops on field. The gear being what it is (a replica firearm) has a lot of strange legality issues behind it. There is also not a market for paintball like fields with proshops in Canada. There are only an estimated 5,000 airsofters in Canada total, so infrequent attendance at a field is a worry for potential investors for such a thing. This is, of course my opinion, and I've done a lot of paraphrasing from what I've learned by reading the forum. |

I believe is happening out east TAC and the airsoft IPSC shooting is a step in the right direction to legitimizing our sport in the eyes of the government. It is going to take many many more years for airsoft to have the same level of acceptance in Canada as say Japan or Malaysia but it's getting their.

Starting a dedicated airsoft field is a thought that has ocurred to many people, including me. Hopefully one of us will actually get such a facility off the ground in Ontario, since there is one in Winnipeg (can't remember the name, but it's in a thread somewhere...xtreme tactics, I think?). So to answer your question, there IS one in Canada (maybe more that I don't know about), but it's hard to get them started and keep em running.

I have an indoor Airsoft facility that is 60,000 square feet (four floors), and an outdoor field that is approx 200 acres. These are both 100% dedicated to the game of Airsoft and are located in, and near Melville, Saskatchewan.
These are new facilities/fields which allow retailers to set up mini/temporary stores to sell their products at. So to answer your question further, yes, there are fields/facilities like this, and in my opinion, there will be more of them as time goes on.

Ok, so three dedicated full time fields. None of them east of the prairies. *Considers moving west*
