a few questions...

so today i FINALLY got my new mechbox and furniture.

what i need to know is :
why my safety selector is soo hard to turn, and why it would be shooting on semi even when the selector is on auto?
and my mags dont fit into the receiver quite right..
ps im talking about an M4.

m102404 sound slike he's on the money here, but a bit more details would probably help out a bit - like what kind of body and mechbox you're using.

I'm not sure if your mags fit but aren't seated properly or aren't fitting at all or are too loose. You might want to be a little more specific with that one. Personally, if it's at all possible, I'd modify the mags and not the receiver. My King Arms mags just needed a bit of tape around them to seat perfectly in the mag well and they feed great.

its the old style metal CA body. the selector and the selector plate has been loosened enough so that it doesnt move tightly while the mechbox is not installed. but as soon as i install the mechbox, it gets much harder. right now it wont fire on full, just semi, no matter what position its in, other than safe.
the rear body pin is a bitch to get in, this leads me to believe the mechbox is not sitting correctly.
oh and the mags not seating properly, when i say this, i mean i can push it in, but as soon as the mag hits the catch it doesnt click in as it should.

i have SOME knowledge of how aegs work, been takin them apart and reassembling them since 2004, but iv never had this problem before.

Maybe the stock need,s to be loosened up a bit to help line everything up. I had the same kinda thing happen to me when I put my TM gut,s in a G&P metal body. the stock was on to tight so I had a hard time putting the body pin,s in and lineing everything up. Once I loosened up the stock everything started to fall into place.

I bought one of those mechboxes and I'm actually having a similar issue. I'm having other problems with it as well, but also having that exact issue. I'm using a DBoys metal C8 body (in which my TM mechbox worked fine till it cracked). My selector is also still when installed in the body, and occasionally, I can't switch to full auto.

I've found that some guns are finiky about the order in which they are put back together. I had a stiff selector problem with my CA M4 but I changed the order I put things back together and that solved that problem (I don't remember which order caused problems, sorry). I usually put my rear body pin in, mag catch, trigger pin, motor/grip then stock/buffer tube. My buddy's m468 kit also had a stiff selector; I narrowed it down to the pistol grip screws! I had to torque all 4 just little bits at a time (like tire lug nuts) and couldn't over tighten one side otherwise the selector was extremely stiff.

dpvu: How exactly did you tape our KA mags? I'm having issues with some - they're not seating quite high enough and I must hold the mags up slightly in the magwell. I can tell which mags give me troubles as I can see the notch in the mags are cut/punched out in a slightly different location than the others.

mags are still seating incorrectly, they dont lock in.
still no full auto function, but the safety switch and the little plate are still in good condition. every thing moves a little easier.
