Gas mixing for GBB??
hey guys...
just want to know if its okay to mix the hfc134a gas and green gas for GBB, especially for ABS Stock GBB? I'm thinking by mixing the gas I would get a slightly higher power than just using hfc134a gas, if yes, how much is the proportion for the good mixing? |

I have not done it personally but I know a buddy of mine mixes duster and propane at about 50%X50%

When I shoot my WA 92FS, I don't like the weak power I get with 134a, so I use a mix of duster and propane. I'll usually give the mag about 5 second fill with duster, and 2 seconds with propane. That gives me significantly more power than duster, but not as snappy as with propane alone. I did also install a stiffer recoil spring to slow the slide cycle speed down somewhat. With the price of WA guns, I don't want to risk damaging the slide, especially on a rare gun.

i've read somewhere on ASC taht these gases don't mix; it won't harm the gun. I've somewhat confirmed it as i mixed duster with propane. Initially i get a few weak shots (duster) then suddenly after my 5th shot i notice a huge difference with power and recoil (propane kicks in). Sometimes i get some shots that feel just right from mixing propane and duster, but mostly its just inconsistent. conclusion: i don't think it will mix, perhaps its the different gas pressure?

I do it all the time and it works fine. I get no difference in power.
I just tested this using my WA 92FS Test 1: 15 rounds, filled with 134A
Now, there IS one thing I noticed when I used the duster / propane combination. I get poor gas mileage. When I load up the full 25 rounds, my last 3-4 shots tend to be rather weak, and sometimes there's not enough pressure left in the mag to lock the slide back. I don't have this issue with straight propane or duster, only when I mix the 2.

hmm...i think i know why now. i was using difluoroethane. Maybe thats why. and yeah i did notice the higher rate of gas consumption.

Good info crunch.
Do you have any lubrication issues? I noticed with a cleaned gun and firing duster the lub tends to pool around the muzzle loader more than a gun fired on propane. |
