But theres a whole buncha other crazy factors to think of as well, such as free radicals and theta radiation.
I knew that, totally. *cough*

But yeah, Bigger batteries are generally a better bet, especially in the cold.

Id also like to add that Nicads perform a bit better in the cold than Nimhs.

T7, do you have a charged large ni-mh battery you can huck in the freezer overnight and take out in the morning? I'd like to see if this freezer thing will work on both types or not.

I'll research and see if there is any risk to potentially damage the cells.
If not I may attempt to do so.

Cool, give me a heads up and I'll join in to get more results.

That makes sense. However, games like that are certiantly the exception. My comment was also more directed to those who seem to think that anything less than 4000 mah isn't worth running.

i thought voltage = higher ROF?

Mah will increase ROF a little because the battery has more cranking amps. It will be able to deliver the current faster than a smaller battery of the same voltage.

yes but it is not the only variable.

what you really want to measure when it comes to performance is power (in watts)

so, p =vi

increasing voltage or current will incerase rof

voltage is simple. for current, you need a larger cell which usually have lower internal resistance, giving it a larger discharge rate = more power

which is why when people say higher mah = more rof, more technically, it is the larger cells used in higher mah rating batteries that give you the advantage
