No more Semi-Automatic

Well I recently down graded my spring for an upcoming game. Upon completion I tested the new spring by shooting a hundred rounds or so. I was going to put my rifle away when I noticed that it was firing automatic in Semi-automatic and automatic modes. I have an ICS M4. I am taking it apart now to inspect the electrical but if anyone could help me buy pointing me in the correct direction that would be great.

Dont quote me on this one. I think it maybe a selector plate issue. Just take out the mechbox reset the position and reseat it back in and hopefully it should be fine. Thats the simplest thing I can think of, however its very possible it could be more complex. Best of luck.

I had the same problem once with my mp5. It turned out that sometime during diasassembly, the selector plate spring fell off the side of the gearbox.

AHHH.... Thanks for the help. I never realised how simple the electrical in these things are. I found that it is not the electrical at all. It is a mechanical part that is broken.

I am not sure what it is called but rather I will describe it. It interacts with the selector gear. On the bottom of the selector gear there is a cam that the peice rides along. When the gun is on Semi-auto the piece is in contact with the cam, which causes the part to pivet once per relovultion.(assuming to stop the motor from turning more than on revolution)

This part is then pulled away from the cam on automatic so that it does not move once per revolution. (not sure how yet, but I assume it causes automatic fire).

This piece is attached to the fire selector switch via a spring. It seems like it should react with the switch assembly. However the tip of the part closest to the mech box switch assembly seems broken. I would appriete it if someone with more expertises could comfirm this as a possible problem, name of part and possible places to get a replacement part.

Thanks in advance.

I believe the part maybe called the "Cut off lever". I am still searching where to purchase one from however.

Could anyone tell me if TM V2 or V3 mechbox parts are compatible with an ICS M4 because I found replacement "cut off lever" for V2 and V3 mechboxes but not for ICS.

From looking at it, it seems the TM replacment part for the V2 mech box looks the same.
