P226 Or M9
Im looking at the KJW Beretta M9 and P226. i like the look of both. But i am wondering which one is better in terms of upgradability?
The M9 comes full metal already so thats a + Sadly aasurplus isnt selling airsoft guns so i do have to get it from 007. Also what parts for GBB's are allowed to be transported across the border? Thanx Last edited by bjarec; March 17th, 2008 at 14:37.. |

Their both KJ, not a whole lot of options in terms of upgradability.
Theres parts out there, just not a whole lot.

1. As TS said, they're both KJW, so not much can be done in terms of upgrades, although I hear the new version 226 is partially TM compatible, so that would mean at least some parts are upgradeable.
2. Get age verified. Once you are, you'll have access to shootsoft.ca. KJW pisols are about $260 there, as opposed to almost $400 from 007. 3. You can import any part of a GBB except the lower frame.

KJW guns are TM clones. So anything you put in a TM P226 you could probably put in a KJW P226.
I have a KJW P229 and it works like a dream, and has nice weight and sound. |

Except for mags. However, caveat is that KJW is known for their slightly less than 100% cloning, so fitment is always an issue when comparing to the real thing.
I'd honestly pick the P226 over the M9 though, just in design and build quality (even though I love the Beretta, in all of it's weird and funky creations). It's years since TM has released the M9 whereas P226 is only a few years old and features some better design features (such as a trigger spring that doesn't snap... as often)

Thats not always true Styrak, in the newer KJs coming out today, the cloning is closer but still not exact theres still fitting issues for some parts, but in some of the older model KJs, like my M9, theres barely anything thats compatable.

Once again, I must agree with TS. My M9 was bought new in November. Other than springs, I have't found a TM part that works with it. I hear the extended 50 round TM magazines will work, but standard TM M9 mags won't. I can also confirm that hopups and inner barrels DO NOT work on that gun either.
I haven't seen any of the new KJ model guns that are apparently more TM compatible yet though. If I could confirm the compatibility of the KJ P226, I would more than likely strip all the aftermarket parts from it (incuding the metal slide) and return it to stock form, then trade for a KJW instead.

Yes, I've heard that as well. If I can't get my TM up to par, I'll get a new version KJW, and install my Creation metal slide on it. That way I'll have the trademarks on the slide as well, plus have a high quality slide.
