hi just wanted to know, on wich of the 2 version of the m249 are the usmc using over seas the para version or mk2 saw, and ure opinion of which is better

They're both used, so anything more specific than that would depend on the unit itself. There's a number of other models of the M249 that are also used as well - the mk II and para aren't the only versions of it kicking around.

As for what's better...that's all relative. What will you be using it for? If I'm sitting in a prepared position and just have to sweep back and forth between a left and right of arc, I'd take something with a longer barrel and full stock (Mk II, Mk 46 or even just the plain ol' M249). If I had to jump out of a plane with it, I'd probably take the E3 or E4 because it's a lot shorter and easier to move around with.

A lot of the Marine pictures of the 249 Para I see have a RAS rail installed; it seems intended as a big automatic rifle that can be fired on the move.

sweet looks more like im getting sold on the idea of the para, i like tha fact that the para version has a rail on the feed cover, unlike the mk2, airsoft wise aneways

You can put a rail on the feed cover of any model 249. I highly recommend the para, one quick twist and fold and you're ready for CQB if you want. Mine came as a para, then I swapped in Mk II parts, then put it right back to para. Much nicer to play with. I also highly recommend the G&P RIS front end, very nice piece of kit and solid.
