Gimme a break. I mean, I appreciate caution, like that from Styrak, and I know you're only joking - but I think there's just too much paranoia on this board. Exercise common sense is the key. No-one's advocating showing off their gun in a public place but if there's no-one around in the pitch black in the middle of nowhere - I hardly doubt that deserves a darwin award.
You need to start seeing the possible consequences of your actions, both IRL and on this board.

For the real world part, let me put it this way. Your plan is kinda like going out again and again to pick up chicks, and bang them without a condom. You probably won't catch anything the first time, nor the second time, but you'll eventually run out of luck.

Shit happens, and it happens quick with cops. Don't assume that just because you are in a deserted place, no one sees you or hears you.

As for the forum part, you need to realise that ASC has a more complex ethiquette than most forums. People here want to protect their sport, and you need to take an extra minute to think if the comment you are about to make is going to get you raped.

There are no stupid questions, but in my eyes, being in a public place firing off shots is a great way to eventually catch herpes.

surebet: I see your point. I think from my perspective I didn't understand the history of this sport as much as most of you, which is why I didn't have the context of protectionism that most of you feel.

I can see how it just takes one fool to scare the moms into putting severe restrictions on this sport, as has happened in other countries. However, keep in mind that what seems sensible to you may not be understood by a newbie who has never had the benefit of hindsight.

I was thinking that the barrel wouldn't even be outside the window, and that you would never be able to see someone inside the car at night unless you were in the parking lot. So as soon as someone drives into the parking lot, I would stop what I was doing. Furthermore I'd only be there long enough to adjust the hop-up correctly. I wouldn't be there shooting cans all night!

As for shooting in the basement - is there an easy way to do this without putting cardboard everywhere? Remember I'm just a stoopid newbie so please be gentle
I just shoot into a box, As long as the gun's under 450 FPS it shouldn't penetrate both sides.

To adjust the hopup, wait till you're at a game... Most hopups don't stay adjusted an entire winter's length time anyways.

Seriously, Airsoft inside a car in an accessable place is a very, very bad idea... You can get charged with whatever the police feel like charging you with if you're caught... (Some of the charges can get pretty major if they factor in it being a "replica weapon")

Allow me to regale you with the tale of how I wound up naked, surrounded by four very angry cops...

Back when I lived in a quite shady part of Montreal, I heard the unmistakable sound of a kid getting the shit beaten out of him. Not only was the kid screaming his head off, but you could literally hear the slaps he was getting.

Not knowing exactly where this atrocity was being committed, I called 911, told them I lived at this address, and instructed the dispatcher to send a squad car in the alley next to my apartment building.

Low and behold, the dispatcher miscommunicated my instructions, and routed the cops directly to my door.

Meanwhile, needing to get to work, I jumped in the shower a few minutes after making the call, thinking nothing of it. I enjoyed my shower for a short while before hearing my door getting pounded, along with the cops yelling that they were coming in.

I only had the time to grab a towel, and greet them in the kitchen. Though not at gunpoint, I was instructed to "assume the position" and wait while they searched the place for a kid to be rescued.

Took a while to sort out, then they proceeded to the real call.

What really scarred the ever living shot out of me is that I was taking photos of guns and gear for the classifieds before making the call.

Good thing for me, I put my guns back into storage.

So yeah, shit happens.

Why do my better stories always include nudity on my part...?

I doubt cops go only by a red tip. What's stopping you from taking a live AK and putting tape on it's muzzle?

actualy the cops dont trust the red muzzles because criminals paint their guns to make the cops think that their toys so that they get the first shot in. but if you have an orange muzzle it doesn't look quite as real

Yeah I have a KWA KP8 .45 full steel, and the orange tip is painted right on to the end of the slide. What should I use to get it off? Nail polish remover?
