Depending on what you prefer, semi automatic, bolt action, gas, air cocking or electric? Right out of the box high fps & accuracy or have to be modify?
Please be more specific.

Sniper platforms are both more complicated to setup and fucking money pits. To perform at peak efficiency, you will need to be able to adjust minute settings and expect to leave 1000$ plus on the table. If this is your first gun, you would probably be better served by an AEG, especially if patience isn't your forte. This being said, I had nice results from my CA M24. I miss it greatly... |

Gmd, like the others have stated, what is your preference as to which rifle you want. All have their advantages and disadvantages. As what Surebet stated, if you want to go serious on sniping...prepare to drop at least a $1000 just for the rifle alone.
I've owend only two sniper rifles as playing sniper for my team. I used to own a Sun Projects M40A1 which was a bolt action, air cocking. It shot 470fps using .25 bb's and witha PDI 250% spring installed. It was very accurate and depedable in any weather. I now own a Tanaka M700 AICS with the Power Control System (PCS) which is a bolt action, gas powered. With the PCS fully open using green gas, it's firing 560 fps; with propane, it's firing over 600fps. It's very accurate but being a gas gun, it has issues when the outside temperature is too cold. My recommendation is search for reviews of sniper rifles and compare them with each another. Look at their pro's and con's and go from there. Some players have used AEG's and converted them into semi-auto rifles for sniping and counter sniping. The armalite series is an excellent gun to modify into a sniper based gun. The AK can be conveted into the famous Dragonov. Get yourself Aged Verified and search the "For Sale" sections. Many players do sell their sniper rifles when they want a change from their present playing format or to upgrade to a new rifle. Hope this helps and welcome to ASC. You will find lots of helpfull info on this site. If stuck, just post your question and we'll try to help you as best as we can.

technically, the best all around sniper systems are springs, cause they can be used any time of the year, not affected by temperature, dont need gas or extra bits to shoot and are pretty consistent. so knowing that, your next choice is either to buy a low-mid brand Well, which shoots hard and has decent accuracy (every few shots, one BB will go astray), or get a higher end brand, saw like CA M24, and upgrade it to the max. Depending on your budget, experience with airsoft and even your mechanical skills, you should evaluate the difference between the two. read some reviews. how you might ask? literally type in "<insert name here> reviews" on google and you will have some. hope that helps.

Lots of good info on all airsoft sniper rifles (including the clones, mostly that recently) at www.airsoftretreat.com, go into the forums and into the Snipers Perch.

I think we should change the expression; "money pit" to: "money chasm".

I used to have a ASP-2 T96.
Alot of money, but I think this was the best type of game I ever played. (Might explain why I am building my G36K into a marksman platform) There is some very important thing you want to keep in mind. The limit is usually 500 fps. YOU DON'T NEED TO NAIL IT! It is a lot more important to have a consistent rifle, always hitting the same spot than one that can shoot 5 meters further. |
