VFC SCAR info?
Hi i am looking into purchasing a VFC SCAR-L for summer play next year. does anyone have any first hand experience with the mech box that comes factory in them??
I want to be hitting about 400 fps or just over and am wondering if i can get away with a simple spring upgrade. I havent been able to find any info at all about internals on these. Thanks all!

Hey dude, I'm getting a SCAR as well. Apparently the internals are not the best. Yes it's 8mm bushing but they're made of plastic. It also seems like the piston isn't so good as well.
Once I receive mine, I'll get some 8mm metal bushing with a better piston. Other than that it seems to be looking very good. I'm curious about the motor though...

Within our club we have 2 players with the VFC SCARs, 2 players with the VFC HK416s and 1 player with the VFC AK74UN. The general consensus is to just leave them stock. I personally have crono'd these guns (I'm the safety officer) and they shoot 330-350 out of the box and are low maintenence when left alone.
However, upgrading a gun is half the fun of airsoft If you do upgrade, make sure and reinforce to handle the stress.

I'm going to leave mine stock until the mechbox breaks down.

If you sign up on Arnie's there are a couple of live SCAR threads there. VFC seems to be more common in the UK also vs. our side of the pond.

Smart man.
Tinkering with a gun is half the fun but not when it causes you to spend too much money.
