Anyone familiar with the Ithaca shotguns?

I just received my new toy today, an Ithaca full stock shotgun and I love her except for ONE small thing I can't figure out. There's a little lever type thing that's part of the front of the trigger guard. It moves back and forth so I'm sure it does something, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it's supposed to do! I didn't get a manual with the gun and searched hi and low on the internet and couldn't find any answers. Anyone here know what it does?

Thanks!

Neven owned one so I don't know for sure but for some reason I'm thinking it's to select between firing 1-3 bb's?

I'm taking a picture now, but it's not for switching between firing modes, that switch is a little further up the barrel. I have NO clue what this one does. Will update with a photo in a minute or two.

*EDIT* The first two photo's show the little switch thinger and the second is the switch for 1 or 2 bb's per shot.

Does it allow you to slide the action even after cocked? I know my shotgun has a small lever that allows you to cycle the action without ever pulling the trigger.

You're a genius! That's what it does, it allows you to slide the action after it's already been cocked. But what's the point in this? I guess just to be able to shoot more bb's?

In a real shotgun it's used to remove a live shell from the chamber without shooting it, but airsoft...?
