Tokyo Marui AK-74M Internals

I think this wasn't posted here before:

Bolt system looks very interesting, would love to know how it works. Too bad no battery in the stock (I doubt it's because it folds, probably because it's very thin inside due to the indent for the siderail), but cool to see they made one fit into the upper handguard.

Looks like alot of positive improvements have been made in this release compared to previous AK variants. However getting spare parts is going to be hell for the first six months until 3rd party suppliers step up w/ replacements.

Always good to see that TM is still quite capable of leading the pack when it comes to innovation.

Hopefully during those 6 months, it will be cloned, and in full steel

I doubt you'll see a clone of this in North America any time soon now that TM has started patenting the designs outside of Japan (ie: in the US and Europe). Now, if someone clones their guns, TM can sue both the producer and the reseller in the US court system (something they didn't do before due to lack of worldwide patents, since TM never intended their guns to be sold outside Japan) for REAL money...and also file an injunction stopping retailers from importing them into the continental US and it's protectorates due to patent infringement.

I say good for TM for aggressively protecting their design. I hope they sue both the cloners and the companies who import TM clones into bankruptcy.

I like the new selector switch design, where its attached to the inside of the receiver. Like a G36. Anyone who has had to take apart their AK's mechbox more than once must agree, lol.

So far i'm a little bit torn on this. I like that Mauri is putting something new and innovative out there but i'm questioning a few things like why the change in magazine? That puts alot of AK owners out as now we have to go and get a whole new set of magazines specifically for this rifle alone (At least until the cloners start up)
The new mechbox design looks interesting. I'm still confused as to how the blowback system works though. From the pics it appears that it's tied into the piston? Or is that large cylinder object above the mechbox a new motor system? From the translated text it says that "use of this gap piston rods to promote weights for moving backward" so it sounds like it will be. Anybody able to properly translate the text? If it is tied to the piston I sure hope that the warrenty is strong because it's going to break (Haven't they learned from the guarder system?)
Price is high (Yes it's TM) but for a much lower price you can pickup competivly priced guns from others and drop in upgrade parts to get the same looking rifle for either lower price or similar.

If it had the reliablity of a TM then maybe the price is going to be good. But I guess we'll have to wait and see in the long run.
