How does a GBB destroy a recoil spring guide made out of ~1/4"+ piece of solid steel and not destroy one made of weaker and thinner metal (the two piece is made out of cast metal, but the one piece if literally made on a lathe from homogenous steel)? I can understand how the two piece would get destroyed as per this post at airsoft retreat:

But the solid steel guide? It'd at least bend, but not break. You must have had the two peice and not known it.

hmm could be. I found a pic of the destroyed one http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...ecoilguide.jpg. What i meant was instead of one picture I have the one with the dual spring setup.

Ok, ya, that guide is different from mine. I wish KSC would get their shit together regarding this gun, I haven't a clue WTF model mine is, other than it's pre-2005.

Anyways, am looking forward to getting my MK23 to shoot over 380fps in the next month.

so if i order a new one, will it have the 2 recoil spring or the 1?
lastly, from what i gather, it seems the single spring model (2005) is better cause the spring guide is solid steel and thus less prone to breaking. is that right?
if i have this wrong, please correct me

"Firstly, the accurately replicated recoil rod and spring were replaced with a simpler system with a buffer."

???

Hence the "wtf"... Seriously though.. WTF? They show one with a buffer, and one without. Then they say it's the one with out the buffer, but ... with.. the.. gaaaah. God damn ambiguous review.

Kos I think you're confused. Isn't he saying they took the accurately replicated recoil rod and spring then replaced it with a simpler version with the buffer? Which means the 2005 would have the buffer whereas the older one would not.
