Do you have any info on AK-106?

After doing some research on the Kalashnikov series of rifles, I realized there wasent any info on the AK-106, however I found all the info I needed on every other ak-100 series rifle. Does any one know anything about it? Does it look like the AK-102, -104, and -105, is it part of the AK-107, -108 BARS system rifle, or is it an AK-74 looking gun that just uses a diffrent cartridge. Perhapes theres no such no thing? lol Any info would be great, Im just curious about it. Thanks.

I highly doubt it exists. I think they skipped a number to separate the Avtomat Kalashnikov series (up to 105) from the Alexandov-Kalashnikov series (107-108).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-101

They are 'export' designation numbers for the AK in different calibers than it's standard version, and also the short (Spetz) type for those calibers.

There is NO AK-106. I don't think even an "export" version exists with that name. The wikipedia site is wrong on its list on the right. Funny how they don't mention any info on this "106" since it doesn't exist.

That guy on the forum is also wrong. I bet he's talking about the SLR-106 series, semi auto civilian AK rifle, based on the AK 100 series in 5.56 caliber.

If anyone would like to argue otherwise, show me a picture and some info on it, period.

Ancorp, if you are sure of your information, feel free to correct the Wiki.
There are other links about that series you may want to read before dismissing it.

The links are in the Wiki itself. And if they are not satisfactory you CAN change a Wiki. I dont care, I did not write it.
