OLD school GBB...tips of how to put hop-up system

Hi... I have an old school KWC 1911 Patchmayer and doesnt have a hop-up system.. It's range is flying badly at just 10 meters away. Though it's fps is I think bearable, I find it odd to see the way bb's fly.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I want to put a hop-up on the barrel. It's ok to me that it'll be fixed as long as there is one.

My question now is, is it ok to put a hop-up (of course DIY) on the front end of the barrel?!? I know the principles of spinning a bb. but I just want to make sure that it'll work just fine.

My other option is to drill a hole on the rear end of the barrel and put a strip of rubber outside it and stuff it with a small cushion(probably an insulator of a copper). My problem now is, I'm not sure if these things would fit inside the GBB.

I'm open for your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

The easiest home job, I would think, would be to put a metal collar around the barrel, and then tap it and the barrel with a small set screw - similar to the Maruzen CA870 Charger's hopup.

Put a dot of silicone sealant on the top of the screw.
