Systema Helical Gear Set Problem

I'm having a problem with a set of System helical gears and I'm not exactly sure how to fix the problem.

When I install the gears and go fire the gun, a single BB will shoot and then I get nothing for another 7 - 10 pulls of the trigger at which point 2 BB's will come out at the same time. I've installed the gears to the traditional 1 o'clock setting so I don't think that the problem is with the timing.

My first guess would have been that it would be the connection between the nozzle and the tappet plate but, that is all in order so, what is the next thing to check?

I've tried these gears on a version 2 and a version 6 mech box and the same thing happens on both guns. The problem goes away as soon as I install the stock gear set again. Did I just get a bad set of gears?

Is this in a version 3 mechbox? If so, does the mechbox cycle properly when run outside of the gun body?

Helical Gearset is shim sensitive. Get it right and everything will be fine.

Make sure that all your gear shafts are firmly pressed into each gear. I experienced this problem with the bevel gear on a helical set years ago. Grab the shaft wuth a pair of pliers and see if you can spin the gear (by hand only). If you can, that gear is toast and not repairable. If the splines are smoothed out, then it will never grab the gear and will need to be replaced.

Also, look at your tappet for any evidence that the nub on the sector gear is bypassing the tappet. You should see some wear marks if this happening.

Have you tried slowly turning the gear when you have the gearbox opened in front of you. I know that with a V2 it's not necessarly the easiest thing to do but it looks like your gears are not making contact with something here and since you tried it in 2 different mechboxes it cannot be the pinion gear or the piston.

Wait. What gearset is it? If it is Infinite gearset you need to modify the lug on the switch assembly.

I only take Timmie's X-large triple/triple. Just cause you're in Calgary means nothing when Timmie's is involved!!!

I'm not sure about the JOC game, but I'll be in Olds on the 26th.

Check your shimming. If the gear height isn't set right, it will cause this problem by pushing the tappet plate out of the way and out of its grooves.
