air nozzle resting place

If you look into the little tube that the bb's are fead into on a TM AEG, where should the air nozzle come to rest in between each semi auto shot in terms of how much of the inlet it covers? Should it cover the inlet all the way, half of the way, or should it leave it totally open? Currently my nozzle is coming to rest all the way back every other shot leaving the inlet totally open, and about 3/4 of the way back every other shot leaving 3/4 of the inlet exposed. I have been told that getting a different bevel gear with four anti-reversal latch stops as opposed to the system one with 2 stops will solve this problem. Would it also be a good idea to get a systema or guarder anti reversal latch as opposed to the stock TM one? I am also 100% sure that the nozzle is long enough because it is the exact same length as the stock TM sig 552 nozzle.

Leave it as it is, as long as you dry fire a couple times in semi before putting your gun away, your spring won't be compressed. I think you are putting too much worried thought into the whole thing and are stressing your self out over it.

haha sorry I probably should have mentioned why I'm worrying about it. I'm worrying about it because its causing my gun to double feed every other shot in semi.

Better chance something is going on with your hop up unit/barrel than the nozzle. My second MP5 had the same problem, double feeding all the time in semi, sometimes in full, turned out to be the barrel lock on my hop up unit, I had it in backwards, plus when I got it (well used) it came with only one screw instead of two. Shooting it caused the barrel to shift forward a little bit, which took the hop up rubber sleeve forward, spread the rubber breach, which allowed a BB to enter the chamber when the nozzle pulled back, then the nozzle moved forward and loaded another BB.

So, either someone at some point had worked on the inside of the gun/barrel/hop up unit, or your hop up rubber is worn and needs replacing.

BTW, trust me, I dug up all kinds of info on what the double feeding problem might be, including gear timing improperly set, 2 notch bevel gear causing it to hop up unit set up improperly. The last one was the ringer, it now shoots 100% perfectly in semi.

Do not buy a Systema Area 1000 tappet plate if you go new. I had 2 of them in my stock gear box and they double feed constantly. Stick with a Guarder if you change it!!!

thanks for the information guys, ill try the whole hop up thing, and ya im just using the stock tm tappet plate because my systema one was giving me problems
