Low rate of fire...

I have a fully upgraded M4 and am confused as to why my ROF is diminishing.

I have a fully upgraded systema gear box, with high torque gears to pull the 150% spring back.

I have put a Turbo 3000 motor in to get things moving.

I have tried bigger batteries with no help.

On semi auto, the gun is hesitant, and slow to wind, and on full its not as quick as i would like. I am looking for realism out of the ROF for my m4...

My guesses are, poor wiring, shitty battery ( I have a volt meter and its putting out 11v from a 9.6v), motor is too weak, or its cause i went with high torque gearing...

Could use your help, if you have had a similar problem.

I've had similar incidents when the battery wasn't pushing enough voltage to crank the piston efficiently. You'll go through batteries pretty quickly too.

Honestly, lose the 150 and go down to a 120 or 130. The extra punch isn't worth the hassle of broken mechboxes, especially if you've got an aluminum piston head. I blew the front right off a systema reinforced mechbox with a 150 and an aluminum piston head...

I did the upgrades a year ago and love the fps on my gun, so i dont think i will ever change it... well, not until something happens.

I think you are touching base on the problem. The voly meter might say 11v, but it doesnt have the juice to keep it going. In other words a crapped out battery. I have a guy coming with a 9.6 3300 and i am going to try that out.

Thanks for the reply

Shimming is too tight? Engine adjusted too tight? Out of greese and everything is getting too much friction?

you get the whole mechbox from systema? you sure the sping isnt a m150? Now that would slow rof down. If it is a pdi150 i hope it dosnt slow down too much cause im geting one on my g3.

Problem fixed...
All my batteries were F'd up... The volt meter showed they were putting out the juice, but they were not holding a charge. Brand new batteries " D.O.A."

I got a custom battery made up here in Edmonton for $90.oo , yes pricey for a NiCD 9.6v 2000mah but it is industrial size battery and seems good thus far. I am in the field tomm. and will know the truth, then...

pretty sure its not voltage that you should be looking for if your testing your battery. Even if the battery is dead, you will see the appropriate voltage. It should be amperage that you should check. And you should be checking it with a needle type multimeter under load (firing). Not %100 positive on this, just what I think. Anyone agree or not? Then again, there must be battery testing devices out there, probebly at a hobby shop. Hope this helps.

Avoid like the plague PDI 150% springs. The past few years just about every one of them that has come out has been too long and made of thicker wire, causing serious problems upon install and guaranteed mechbox problems, ending is serious breakage. Go with better springs such as the Prometheus ones.
