any word on the ICS AKS-74?

I've been away from airsoft for a while. last year there was some rumors about ICS releasing the AKS-74, AK-74 and AKS-74U sometime this year. has there been any developments or it's still a rumor?

From what I see... the only ICS AK series out is the AK-74M

Why not just go with VFC?

The internals are not as nice as ICS for the same price.

I have to say though, the VFC with their details and trades... It would be hard to pass up that gun, even with less than ICS internals.

Not to bash the internals, just saying like TM, the ICS is still a bit better.

Dunno, I got both, internals look decent although I still need to downgrate stock VFC to comply with field rules, once inside probably will replace usual suspects: spring guide, nozzle etc, but then I did the same thing with ICS.
ICSs have that disgusting airleak problem too...

On the boxes they are shipped in there's a whole bunch of check boxes with different AK74 versions. Currently only one is being checked.

Hey Berkut,

What's this issue with the ICS AK74?

(the air leak)?

I've got an ICS AK74 here, new.

I'm looking for info on it on the forums, but anything direct from another person would be great...

I'm hoping it'll run for a while right out of the box, but if there's a list of items I should compile for when it does break down, it's good to know.

The only item I'd heard that needed replacing really badly was the piston - I'm not sure why though.

Other than the internals possibly having issues, it's a great gun. So easy to take apart as well, and feels really nice.

The nozzle is not sized properly. The thrubore is too large and allows significant air leakage between the nozzle and cylinder head tube.

The ICS AK uses a proprietary nozzle which is similar to one of the TM ones which shares the same outer diameters (I can't recall which one). It's a bit too long and has to be shortened.

I don't know if the similar TM stock nozzle fits on the ICS cylinder head, but the Guarder aftermarket one does fit very well once it's modified. You can get about a 30-40fps boost from stock performance by replacing the nozzle if ICS hasn't already fixed this problem.
