yeah, another MP5 Q.
okay, this one's about the battery. I'm hoping all the people that helped me before can still lend a hand.
Okay, this site: http://aasurplus.ca/airsoft/product_...roducts_id=111 Says the gun takes a "mini" battery This site: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/revie...ras_review.htm Says it's also a mini battery, but they give a specific mAH Quote:
Do you guys think It would fit if I went with the 8.4V 1400mAh battery? |

Yes, they differ by only millimetres.

A 2/3A cell (which is two thirds the length of a full A-sized cell) has a specific size that manufacturers need to conform to, otherwise they can't properly call it that nor will it fit in devices meant to use it. That said, the super cells manufacturers are coming out with these days are stuffing so much electrolyte into them that a minor growth is inevitable, and some super high capacity cells ARE in fact slightly oversize but not by much more than a fraction of a millimeter or so. Occasionally that's enough to mean the difference between fitting and not fitting. There is a noticably higher amount of resistance stuffing my Intellect 4200 mAh into the butt of my M249 versus my Venom 3000 mAh.
Not all guns are that tight though. The forearm of the MP5 typically has a LOT of room for the battery to wiggle around and a slightly fatter or longer cell won't make a difference. However I have two Intellect 1400s and I put them along side some KAN 1050 cells and the size was identical, so I think in the case of 2/3A there's been no physical growth of the cells, just their capacity. To make a long story longer, an Intellect 1400 mAh will fit just fine into an MP5. I use one. One caveat though, if you're using a model with a tactical flashlight foreend it will NOT fit a 9.6V mini pack, only an 8.4V. The regular foreend will fit a 9.6V. Hope this helps. |
