Bolle Lens Care/Restoration/Replacement

Hey guys,
Just got a set of used Bolle T800s. Pretty dirty, but after cleaning, you can see quite a few scratches. Not jsut the long ones, but some of the "colony" types (patch of scratches).
Is it possible to buff these out without comprimising the integrity of the lense.

Another issues. On the bridge part of the lens, there are some "tension cracks". Don't really know how to describe this. They're those cracks that appear when you flex plastic. They're a bunch of small parallel cracks/fractures that aren't very deep at all. Again, just wondering if this will comprimise the integrity of the lense. Maybe it's a common thing with the Bolle lense.

Anyways, if these lenses are shot, where can i get a pair of replacement lenses in Canada?

THanks
Dan

Cheapest way to get replacement lenses is through WGC (I know, not in Canada, but get in on a group order). I've had a few pairs of T800's for many years, and have never had any stress cracks, but always get a new lense when the scratches become too much. You'll probably spend around $35 on a new lense.

I'm not sure I'd trust asian airsoft manufacturers to make eye protection. Not all polycarbonate is created equal. Ballistic eye protection should use UV stabilized polycarb with low regrind content. Screw up the material or the processing and you could have a lense which is initially tough, but becomes brittle in a relatively short time.

Stick with genuine Bolle replacement lenses as they're more likely to maintain tight QC and use the right materials.

We just picked up some spare lenses for the ASCArmoury. They're not up on the site yet, we'll put them up soon.

The lenses are more than okay. I tested them with several full auto bursts point blank with a 170, 420fps, and it did not leave a mark. All lenses will eventually show wear, micro-fractures around nose....even those being sold by madmax
