You should really look for reviews on those 2 guns before asking such broad questions. They bear almost no resemblance to eachother other than they are based on similar real gun models.

The SG1 is a Ver 2 G3 series by TM, wheras the PSG is a separate mechbox and gun design by TM. Very different guns.

ah ok, I looked up arnies reviews, but i couldnt get anything on it except on the G3 SG1 which didnt say anything about it. The reason why i thought they were the same gun is because when i googled it, a website said the real ones were based off each other. I couldnt get any reviews on the psg1 from arnies or other sites.
Thanks for the info tho ^^

PSG:
-Sniper Rifle, semi only.
-Long assed gun.

SG1:
-Assult Rifle.
-Select Fire. /semi/full auto
-Smaller, similar to M16 in length.

The PSG 1 is a real pain in the ass. Ask Foxtail.

If you want an H&K large rifle, nothing much wrong with the SG1. The best H&K right now is the G36; far better mechbox.

Mix the 2. SG1 backend and PSG-1 front end and then it will be a nice rig.

I'm almost certain you can put a PSG1 stock on an SG1 (or any other G3 series AEG for that matter). Not sure about the front end, but I don't see why not. The only external question would be the PSG1s unique grip. You might be able to get a PSG1 like grip for G3 series, or you might be able to use a TM PSG1 grip on the SG1. Anyone know?

The differences would be in the receiver. SG1 has full-auto and PSG1 doesn't. PSG1 also comes with a specific scope and mount, I'm not sure if the right mount can be put on the SG1 receiver or not.

Marui PSG1 has a special gearbox, completely different from any other TM gun. The piston stops in the fully retracted position so it can fire the first round without needing to "wind-up", it has a simulated blowback and the bolt moves with each shot, as well as having a larger cylinder than other AEGs (at least I think).

So, I think you could easily make a very PSG1 like AEG from an SG1, it just wouldn't have the internal features of the Marui PSG1, and might look a tiny bit different in the receiver area.

Basical that is what I did.

Took the top, front and stock off my PSG-1 and put them on my old G3A4. and you are 100% right. you loose the grip of the PSG-1. But worth the effort to have a full auto and better shooting insides.

A PSG-1 front end on an SG1 back end has been done, and it looks good. But that's an pretty expensive mod considering what parts you need to find.

Yeah it's called an MSG90 if you want to look the real one up for reference. Although you'd probably have to do without the fancy stock for airsoft.

Or, actually, here's a freebie: http://www.hkpro.com/msg90.htm

I built both guns for a freind.
The MSG90 was the better of the two. Basically a full-auto PSG without the flashy furniture.
The HK 'hydra' as they call it, was very nice looking... but the PSG box with a SG1 barrel didn't match up. I ended up having to port the PSG cylendar to work with the shorter barrel... basically killing the advantage of having the box in the first place. Nice looking peice, but no better then a upgraded M16.

Total cost was about $1000+
