Do people play airsoft in winter? Obviosly they do on a small scale but are there large games? and what would the differences be? Just putting it out there.

usualy the games slow down for a few reasons.
1) its cold
2) GBB dont work so well because of pressure issues in the cold
3) AEG that are upgraded will often break in cold temperatures when full auto is used

The PQAC will be having winter games scheduled this year. Check this link for some pics of passed games.

We play all year, from below -30 to above 40 C!

Winter games are by far some of my favourites...

Not very many large games, as a lot of folks don't like to play when it's cold out, but some of us keep going all year.

Not everyone has a winter kit. Your best bets are spring powered shotguns and sniper rifles...which can lead into some really fun games.

Oh, and...

Two guns are held up at precisely the right angle to look like one huge, two-man operated beast thing at first glance. I was like... WTF IS THAT?!

looks fun but cold. never played in winter b4, I've heard that some batteries may not function very well at those temperatures.

Actually ya dont get cold at all. You'd be surpised how warm running around keeps you. Add in "battle stress" & adrenialine, then your nice and cozy.

Make sure ya got a good pair of boots and blouse them properly. Dont need snow going into your boots, that sucks. Make sure they are really waterproofed, also a good pair of gloves and proper layering of clothing, you'll never want to leave the field.

On that note regarding batteries. I've had all my Ni-Mh batteries fail me in cold temperature, but never had a Ni-Cd fail me.

Will there be a problem using a G&P 7mm reinforced V2 gearbox shooting around 350fps?

pretty much the same as any gun with no upgrades. simple and easy to follow rule in winter. avoid auto and if you use auto keep the bursts real short.

and in regards to "do we play in winter?" PFFFT! Airsoft CANADA...
of course we play in winter, did someone confuse us with Paintball again?

large airsoft games.. does almost 100 player turnout count?
