CA249 vs Top / Star M249s
Before you jump the gun, this thread isnt another one asking which one is better. I am already a proud owner of a CA249 and have had many games with my baby. Unfortunatly, the gun has taken its fair share of abuse and requires some replacement parts.
The question here is, when it comes to purchasing parts for the CA249, which ones will fit? Most parts have descriptions "249 sight for TOP m249", etc.. I know that not all three guns are made exactly the same, so which model (Star or TOP) is closest to the CA249 and thus could be used to get replacement parts. Hope that wasnt too confusing, Thanks |

It would be more helpful if you described the parts you need to replace. Most parts are specific to their individual brands though there are exceptions.

because every other part on the aeg is gonna last the entire lifetime and will never break, thus its pointless to know if others are interchangable as well! |

The front sights should be interchangable. You're talking strictly about the dovetailed tower and not the entire gas block, right?

correct, although it would be nice if the entire thing would be interchangable.
but in general, im referring to most replacement parts (externally, that is) Some part descriptions ive read are clear in saying "for STAR 249 only" etc |

Part man, part machine

It would be nice if we had that for every gun, but that kind of listing doesn't even exist for guns much more common than 249's, so don't get your hopes up... |

If I may be so bold Scott, what the hell did you do to break the front sight tower on a CA249? A STAR, okay. But a CA? Mine nose dived into the dirt along with me during KS2 and didn't even scratch. Are you just unusually hard on your guns or is my unit exceptionally tough?
Oh wow, that last line didn't come out the way I expected at all... |

lol Andrew, we rushed for that tower bunker and I threw the gun through the firing hole. top of the front sight clipped the top of the firing hole and it snapped off at the weak point where the sight slides on to the tower.
