ICS M15 and M4

Hey guys, first post for me

What are the essential differences between the ICS M15 and M4 rifle?

Split gearbox?

Also, does anyone have any preferences as to which is better? Again, this is only concerning ICS.

Thanks guys.

ICS does not make an M15. That's Classic Army. And they are vastly different.

C.A. uses reinforced Ver 2. 7mm mechboxes on their newest releases. They are cross-compatible with Marui-spec parts.

ICS uses 6mm steel bushings in their split gearbox design. They have upgrade upper gearbox kits available complete with an upper shell so quick changeout is an option.

I have owned 5 ICS guns in the last 3 years and both my M4's are still going strong (I sold the rest). While I was at Keystone Strike this year, my piston broke (Systema)and parts jammed up my cylinder, rendering the gun inoperable. I got my stock upper gear box and 30 seconds later, I was back in action. If I had the C.A., I would have been out of commission until I hiked back to the car for my back-up M4.

There is simply no better way I've seen for quick changeout than a split gearbox design. Systema and ICS are the only manufacturers with this available, but others have expressed intentions to do this as well.

Real steel allows to replace the bolt carrier assembly in about 30 seconds as well.

The latest ICS guns have steel bushings and the new Turbo 3000 motor. It will turn springs that my older ICS with the Turbo 2000 motor would not.

Well I know airsoft atlanta lists an m15a4, (And I bought it) And the markings on it are slightly different than on the ICS m4, hence me asking.

http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/aeg.htm

So, is atlanta airsoft just lying or somethng?? I believe I saw other similiar vendors selling the ICS "M15" as well. So, does that mean there are both the ICS m4 and m15?

If so, again, what is the difference?

On my ICS m15 from atlanta airsoft, the markings on the lower receiver say " CAR 97 M44" (yes two 4s)

Whereas I think the M4 from pictures Ive seen does not have the second 4, what does this all mean??

Thanks for the response btw.

Sorry for the double-post, my connection was sucking and I double clicked by accident. But anyhoo, yeah - does anyone have any idea of the difference, if any? I'd think this would be a very easy question, and I can't find the answer on the net so easily.

M4 = M15 in terms of appearance if that's what you're asking.

You have the Oly-Arms version. That's the only legal trades ICS can put on their guns sold in the U.S.. We have the Colt, Oly-Arm and ICS trades versions in Canada. They are the same gun, except for trades.
