Looking for some...
I'm looking for some good tactical gear to buy, so I can load up and see how it feels to move in so I can practice and get in shape for when I actually get to start playing in a long while. Nothing special, just a vest capable of carrying a few mags like M4 style, pistol and backpack with radio and extra ammunition or something along those lines.
Any recommendations on some cheap gear in the likings? |

Look up and see the menu called Gear.
There are about a thousand different vests, backpacks and other pouches you could buy, and a billion different ways to put them together. Check out http://www.militarymorons.com/ specifically the 1st and 2nd line gear pages, and our own Groombug's RAV guide: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=26622 |

We cant tell you what your best combination is. We dont know what gear you will carry, how many mags, bb's, batteries, or whatever the hell else you want to carry. Figure out what you will need to carry, and buy appropriate pouches. Keep in mind that you will carry different items for different game types.

Go and splurge on something, figure out what you like about it and what you don't like, what it's good for and what it's bad for, and then sell it. Do that three or four times and you'll have a pretty good idea of what you really want. There are some great deals in the B&S gear section, just set aside a couple weeks' paycheques and get something nice. You can usually resell for close to what you paid, if you bought it used in the first place and didn't mess it up too bad, so it's not a gigantic money hole.

You dont need a bunch of tac gear on to help you get into shape/ect for airsoft.
Take a backpack, fill it with books and/or bricks and go walking/running with it for a while. |

This is kinda self-serving, but I recommend you take a look at the UTG vest I've got for sale in the Gear section. It's honestly a pretty good vest, meets all things you listed, plus it's cheap yet durable.

Go into a few Surplus stores and some Tactical stores and try gear on. See what you like.
The trouble with everyone recomending gear is it may not work for you. Many guys re-arrange their gear after a day of shooting, on EX etc. once they "shake out" their kit. What you think might work could be horrible in the field and vice versa. Since your in Renfrew come out to a tactical match this weekend at the Pembroke shooting range and you'll see a bunch of gear in action, and get to do the touchy feely thing.
