hop up
Hey guys, I have looked around for info about hop up, I know how it works, but I have a couple simple questions. BTW I have search google (thats how I found out what it was) and I search the forum. Anyways, I was just wondering, does it affect the accuracy? and what are the pros and cons. Thanks alot, please dont flame me, I know im a newb. 8)

does it affect accuracy? - yes, for good or bad. as you know how it works, i assume you know why we have it. tuning the hop up well will not adversly affect accuracy in noticable results unless there is a malfunction (in general terms)
there may be a shot where it flies off but it seems to be quite consistent. quoting the "what is hop up" section in the faq: "The uneven pressure causes the BB to move to one side, or to curve horizontally. Vertically, the trajectory of the BB is flat. It's a tradeoff between range and total accuracy." total accuracy would be a perfect parabolic drop and although with hop up it would be hard to have all the bbs hit at exactly the same spot. still there is decent groupings obtained in guns with hop up |
