Sling advice 1 or 3 pt.
I'm looking at a sling for my honker SR16 and was turned on by the Spectre MOUT sling. My SR is, however, heavy and long, not the most CQB friendly weapon. I was wondering if a 1pt would be useless and uncomfortable and I should just go for a 3pt.
Any help is appreciated. |

It depends on you I quess. I have a 3pt on my M4, just so if I need my sidearm, I just let go and my M4 stays across my chest. You may want an rear adaptor if you have a "bottom" sling mount. The adaptor keeps it from flipping upside down. I got mine from CHALCUS and its great. I would recommend it!.

Specter Gear SOP sling. Or drop big bucks on the BFG SOC-C pack.
You're going to get mad floppage on the MOUT sling. I own one. It's great in games where you only drop your rifle to transition for a pistol shot or in static rest waiting for the next round or something. For extended patrols or field games where you might have to walk without needing your rifle at ready, a 3pt might be better. Consider the slings listed above.

Two or three point is the way to go for longer rifles. Single point is better for short CQC weapons.
As said by Pyro you can spend some money on the Blue Force Gear Contractor Pak or one of the smaller paks but it will do everything you need it plus adapt to any other weapons you have or purchase in the future.

The single point sling would definately suit you situation. A 2 or 3 point would be better. I use a single for my M4 but if I put a silencer on it, I may have to switch to a different sling as it would possibly hang down too far.

The problem with the single point sling for longer rifles is that it will be banging on your knees, shins and other places that don't feel to good, even when you are just walking.
The single point sling can be used with longer rifles (I use it with my issue C7) however you must hold onto it all the time to prevent it from wacking you.

I had a kind of beefed up sling for a camera that I got so I tried it on my gun at FR and it was alright, helped with the weight. Although, yea, it was bagging around my feet, although it was attached to the end of the stock since it was to short to rig something around the neck of it.

If you are going to use a homemade sling here's a couple of suggestions.
See if you can get some paracord and tie it around where the stock meets the action. Useing the camera strap or other adjust it to a leangth that fits nicely over your strong shoulder and under your weak armpit. Attach the paracord to the strap so it doesn't slide. You can sew it onto the strap, make a loop in the sling with a slide buckle and the end of the strap fed back through. The main point is to attach it as close to the action as possible while allowing it to be long enough to still place in your shoulder. If your set on a single point sling also check out the breacher or UDC sling on my site, not as much as one of the Paks :-D

Be careful if you go with a 2 or 3 point sling. If your M4 is a stock TM a 2 or 3 point will increase the barrel wobble alot. I have a rear sling adaptor and it works great. WGC carries one from G&P.

my main concern with using a 3-point is the barrel wobble as well, are you running your 3-point off the rear sling adaptor and the stock? How's it working out for you?

Sorry, should have clarified I'm running a 1 point sling from my rear adaptor. It works good, I've adjusted the sling so that the gun hangs down just to my knees if I need both hands for something. I believe A&A airsoft may have some of the G&P sling adaptors left (that's who I ordered mine through). You can either email him through his website or PM 'whoha' here on ASC.
