G&P m4a1 feeding problem

hey guys, my G&P m4a1 no longer shoots bbs. It can make the sound of it shooting, but no bb's come out. do I have to disassemble it?

EDIT: the metal thing that hits the bb is extended. I can get the spring to compress. There is no way of getting it fixed easily? damm.

Probably broken tappet. Look in the mag well with the mag removed. If you look into the feed tube you'll see a metal nozzle. If you set the gun to semi and pull the trigger, you should see that nozzle move. If it doesn't, that pretty much confirms a broken tappet.

Take it to your local gun doctor and get a stock Marui installed, or a Sytema, or whatever. Anything is better than the stock G&P.

While you're there, get the o-ring removed from the air-seal nozzle. It causes the nozzle to fit too tightly on the cylinder head and this is what caused your tappet failure. If you remove the o-ring, you'll lose a few FPS (not much), but it will prevent this from happening again.

Are the BBs feeding into the chamber? Try turning it upside down and see if it shoots then.

thx, I was playing this thing on full automatic bursts, and sometimes I'm shoot dry because I run out of bbs. I guess at 415 fps, it's pretty tough on the internals. looks like I stressed it too much

Some people put the crappy tire coloured BBs as the last few in a mag so they know when it is reaching the bottom. This does not, however, work well with high-caps.

Apoc on his first day out last season with his G&P SPR broke his tappet plate end of the day. I read a few times last year that it's the weak link with G&P guns. Someone said that if you contact your retailer they can get you replacement parts from G&P (why replace it with the same tappet plate again though?) Best to get a good aftermarket tappet plate and put it in there, it'll last a lot longer.

Gravetech, that's exactly what I do (been doing it since last year). I put 10-15 red 0.12g BBs in my MP5 mags, then fill with 0.25g. When I see red BBs go out and fly up, it's time to reload. What's funny, I've actually gotten a couple kills from my red BBs, not that I tried to. Saves the wear & tear of dry firing, as well as the embarassment of a close run in with a guy only to find out the hard way that he has ammo and you don't. ops:
