Mosquito Launcher
Anybody have one of these. I want to get one for my UMG, but alot of people tell me to stay clear of grenade launchers. Appreciate as much opinion as possible here.

use one before you buy one
IMHO, airsoft grenade launchers are for looks....they are about as useful as a bag of carrots on your gun...even in CQB(not all places permit grenade launchers in CQB), they arnt very useful. Invest in something more pratical. because those launchers have no real barrel, they just spray BBs out infront of you. if you think a M203 has terrible range, the minilaunchers are worse. |

Awesome, glad i did'nt buy it. Im very new to the sport, so im glad i learned that from advice then wasted money. Anygood suggestions for the UMG though? Lokes who is opening airsoft up for me says we mostly engage at a 20 metre range or closer. I was thinking a quck sight, but I heard HK iron sights are hard to beat. I also have a few magazines too.

Learn from my mistake....dont rice out your gun. Right off the start, I stuck everything I could on my gun...next thing you know, you cant see your team anymore because your gun is tangled up in some branches.
for the UMG/UMP, get a good tac light. no need for optics on a SMG of that size. Keep it clean and basic. Iron sights are fine. a RDS isnt bad either, but not needed. |

yeah, i just assume theres a use for everything, but i guess a swiss army gun isnt all that useful. I know a tac light would be useful, but i hardly would play at night, that and i dont want to give me away. (i have NVG too.) But a RDS is probally the top of my list, that or a tac grip.

I have to disagree, I have the PEQ-2 Mini Launcher & I love it. It's not cumbersome, it fires quite far and fast, although I do admit I only have a small handfull of kills with it. They are certainly can put a bit of a scare in some players as they have a loud "bang" to accompany them. If you get one for the UMG, get the PEQ-2 as the Mini-Moscart Launcher is frickin heavy.

Yeah I know a few guys with the mini launchers and they work great (range about 20+ feet) and the groupings are not that horrible. Great for taking out that force of 6 guys you've snuck up on. I'm still planning on getting one for my MP5 one of these days.
