You can just change the selector plate to match the body of the gun. Putting a Systema full mech box in a G&G gun has this same result, as does using an ICS selector plate in a Marui gun. Different selectors are cut a little bit different.

Is your mech box from C.A., or just the gun body?

If you have a local store that stocks parts, head down there with your selector plate. Compare them to different brands if you can by putting them side by side and comparing the notches in the top where the "yaw control bar" sits. The one with the front wall of the notch sitting farther towards the rear of the selector than your selector is the one you'd want.
If you don't have a shop local to you and must order it, try to get one from C.A. first. Unfortunately, you may have to try more than one to get it right, or try to "modify" yours to work. I don't do "jerry-rigging" to parts to make them work. I just get the correct part. But I have a store local to me so I have no problems with that.

Actually, I did get a CA selector plate but it still doesn't like the TM mechbox. Then I tried a CA mechbox with the CA body and I still had the same problem. I think their QC is horrible that even with their own parts it's doesn't 100% fit. Hence, I tried the mickey mouse solution because i'd spent already too much trying to figure it out and I didn't want to go with a useless, awesome looking, paperweight.
