Systema M4a1 Training Weapon

I say go for the look cool factor if thats what toots your horn. There are a ton of people who sink big bucks in to real steel products (scopes, gear etc...) just to look the part. This is airsoft, 100% fun.

So if ya want to look cool - all the power to ya brother. I think its been mentioned somewhere on these boards - pick a picture of a gun or gear you like and start building your kit.

*raises hand* I bought airsoft because it looked cool. When I was a kid I had a plastic M-16 that used go 'bzzzz' 'bzzzz' when you pulled the trigger and I played with it until it fell apart. What I woudn't have done for something like a TM M4 'boys' back then. FFWD 25 years and I find myself with money and a little spare time. Thats what airsoft means to me - a hobby involving lots of plinking, tinkering and fun at the moment. I too want a Systema PTW Max. I have two M4's right now, one an upgraded TM S-System, and another a custom FMU built from parts by Nortus. While both have their charms, they have their drawbacks as well. After all is said and done, I'm still after what by all accounts appears to be the crown of airsoft M4 action - the Systema. I also look forward to slowly accumulating real steel components as I can afford them. Currently I have an ARMS #46SC, #40L and an Eotech 512. Still deciding how I want to handle illumination. Nonetheless, the research and shopping I've done for this hobby has occupied hours of my time and brought me into contact with interesting folk. Its been real fun. I figure next summer I'll take 'er out to some matches, put some scratchs on 'er to give it the battle hardened look, lol.

BTW: if anyone reading this thread has a line on a PTW Max in Canada, PM me!

Everyone got a different value system, we should not use our personal standard to measure others. Is a PTW worth the money? It really depends. Everything got pros and cons.

Most people love Gen3 PTW. But you still hear PTW owner complaint about the ugly stock. Some of them do not like the trademark. So you have to really think about it carefully before your purchase.

PTW is mil spec and build by full metal(beside the stock). You can expect the PTW to take the same level of abuse like a real steel. Bring a PTW to airsoft game is perfectly fine. You have to try really hard to break it.

As for the cool factor, well it really depends who you hang out with. Word of advice: Don't brag about your stuff! You never know how others would react. Think about it, u got a $1400 gun, Vltor stock, Surefire grip, eotech and others. You are looking at a $3000 dollars equipments. It only take a little greedy thought by someone else to take that all away from you. And hope you are unharm in the process. So, don't let the cool factor blind you. Listen what the others says and look for something that suit you best.

Personally, I don't think the stock looks ugly at all, I think it looks pretty cool considering it can hold a large battery and still retract. But I'm just thinking about getting the PTW because it is so realistic yet it cannot kill and you don't need a license. But if there are any other cheaper ways of getting the realism of a real M4a1, then I would consider the latter option. So far people have been saying the ICS M4 can field-strip like the Systema and that it has no barrel wobble like the TM. So far, ICS seems like a good choice because it is not as expensive as the Systema PTW's.

A question about the ICS M4, are there a lot of upgradeable features on the ICS model of the M4? Or is it restricted to minimal upgrades? Thank you in advanced.

With an ICS you would want to put a different motor in it like a stock TM one. Other than that they are work horses from what i have been told by my gun doc. At the end of the day get what you want. IF you have the funds i say get the systema, they are the closest thing to the real thing your going to get. There are a few clubs out on the Island check them out, really great bunch of guys they come over to our games and boot camps from time to time.
